A literal originalist translation

This new translation of the 20th century's greatest book is done in a literalist, originalist manner that preserves Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's original words and phrasing as closely as possible. In cases where the French expressions may prove confusing to English speakers, extensive footnotes are provided giving more usual translations and English expressions.

This translation brings to life the original magic of the words written nearly a century ago. Scholars of children's literature, fans of the original work, and those who simply love feeling the purity of an author's unvarnished voice will all find something new in this work: a translation like no other.

The original illustrations of Saint-Exupéry are preserved, and the original French prose from which this translation was made is included in an appendix.
